The Asia Cup 2023 is the 14th edition of the Asia Cup of One Day Internationals (ODIs) organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). It started on August 30, 2023 and will be played till September 17, 2023.
Six teams in India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal and defending champions Sri Lanka will tussle for a place in the final. A total of 13 matches are expected to be played, and its format is as uncomplicated as they come. Four out of six teams will qualify for the Super 4s, without which the top two will unpeace for the title in the final.
The road to the Super 4s and the final will be unswayable by the number of points each team earns during the undertow of the tournament. The six teams will be split into two groups of three. India, Pakistan and Nepal have been placed in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will represent Group B. Each team will be rewarded with 2 points for a win and zero on suffering a defeat. In specimen of a tie, the 2 points will be split into 1 each. The points-table will moreover full-length the deal-breaker of the net run-rate, which will come into effect when teams are deadlocked with the same number of points.
